2011 Tryouts on Tuesday February 15th

The BYLA will be holding annual tryouts for the teams shown below on Tuesday, February 15, 2011 at Sportsplex. This date will take the place of our normal Skills Session so if you are not trying out you will have a night off.

If your son or daughter is interested in trying out for the following team within their age group they must register with the Club to be considered.

Boys U15A 6-7pm
U13A 6-7pm
U11 Travel* 5-6pm

*There will be a competitive and non-competitive division this year for the U11 Boy’s only in NHYLA. An “A” and “B” team would be a better way to put it. Those boys that do not make the “A” team will default to the non-competitive “B” team and still play a travel schedule.

Girls U13A
U11 Travel

Email Roger Howe at president@bedfordcannons.org to register.

Contact the coaching coordinator if you have any questions.

2011 Season is off to a great start!

We are already into our second week of Skills Sessions and the 2011 season is off to a great start. Our rosters for some age groups are already full and we are in a wait list situation. Email notices will go out to those registered players that sent in late registrations to inform you where you stand if you are on a wait list. The following groups are currently at capacity and we are not accepting any further registrations unless the player is willing to be wait-listed.

Girls- U15 and U13. Room is still available for U11 travel candidates and Rec.

Boys- U13. Room is still available for U15, U11 travel candidates and Rec.

Currently, our Boy’s U15 program has room for several U13 players to move up and fill some open roster spots. If you are a U13 boy and would like the opportunity to be considered for a spot on any of the three teams (A, B or C) we will field this season, please let us know. As we have done in the past, your choice to move up must be approved by the Boy’s Coordinator and it will be based on skill and ability as well as a player’s individual safety. It will also be first come, first served for these spots. There are seven spots as of this notice that are available.

Please read and understand the protocols BYLA will follow as you make your decision to play up to the U15 age group:

1. Candidates electing to play up will be allowed to try out for the “A” team.
2. If your son does not make the “A” team after trying out, he will be placed on the appropriate team he is evaluated for. He will NOT be placed back down into the U13 program.
Example: Johnny S. does not make the “A” team and is evaluated as a “B” level player. He will be placed on the U15B team. He will not go back to the U13 age group and be placed on the U13A team or other U13 team.
3. We cannot guarantee who will be your son’s coach for the 2011 season. Head coaches will be permanently assigned after tryouts.
4. The Club’s refund policy will be strictly followed.

Contact Boy’s Coordinator Mike Desroche (mdesroche@insadjserv.com) or President Roger Howe (president@bedfordcannons.org) if you have any questions.
