IMPORTANT TEAM INFORMATION FOR 2010!

Parents and Players,

BOYS:

If you are age 10 and under and wish to be considered for a U11 travel team, please email us at president@bedfordcannons.org. The evaluation for the two teams we will field in NHYLA is February 16th at NH Sportsplex at 5:00pm. The two teams will be split evenly with an equal number of experienced and less experienced players. There is no A, B, or C classification in this age group. However, because there are only two experienced head coaches available for this group we will only have 40 spots for two teams. Players that are evaluated and are not placed on a travel team will be placed on one of our eight Rec. teams. Any player in this age group that does not wish to be considered for a travel team will be guaranteed a spot on one of the teams in our Rec. program.

Boys playing in the U13 and age groups that wish to tryout for the “A” or “B” teams must submit their intentions via email to Roger Howe (president@bedfordcannons.org) before the February 16th tryout at NH Sportsplex. Time of the tryout will be at 6:00 pm. There will be three teams this year in each division, an A, B, and C. All registered players as of February 1st that are not on a wait-list are guaranteed a spot on one of these three teams. Once the A and B team is chosen the remaining C team will be formed.

If you have questions you may contact Mike Desroche (mdesroche@insadjserv.com) our Boy’s Coordinator or President, Roger Howe (president@bedfordcannons.org).

All players are encouraged to attend so that they are appropriately placed.

GIRLS:

If you are age 10 and under and wish to be considered for the U11 travel team, please email us at president@bedfordcannons.org. This team will be comprised of players from all four of our Rec. teams. The team will have an extra practice each week and play an NHYLA league game on Sundays. The players will also have their regular Rec. team practice each week and play their Rec. team games on Saturday morning.

Players in the U13 age group that wish to be considered for the “A” team must send their intentions to do so to us by February 16th. The tryout time for this team will be 6:00pm at NH Sportsplex. There will be two teams, an A and a C, in this group and all players registered are guaranteed a spot on one of these teams.

The U15 team will be playing as an “A” level team and still has several openings.

If you have questions you may contact TJ Karanasios (tj@sportsandrehab.com) our Girl’s Coordinator or President, Roger Howe (president@bedfordcannons.org).

All players are encouraged to attend so that they are appropriately placed.

THE PROCESS:

The evaluations (U11) and the tryouts (U13 and U15) are conducted with the help of experienced and skilled lacrosse evaluators. Each team is assigned two evaluators that are NOT affiliated with the team they are evaluating and are for the most part outside the BYLA program. The head coach for each team is the third evaluator and has final decision-making power on players that have been evaluated with equal skills and athletic talent. If a player is not at the evaluation/tryout, he/she will be placed based on the coaching staff’s knowledge of their abilities.

An added consideration is made in the U11 program where a player’s size and safety may enter into what team he/she may end up on.
