BYLA Skills Session Time Change

For the remaining two weeks (20th and 27th) of Skills Sessions the start times will change for some teams and age groups.

5pm Building 1 (rear) Girls rec and U11 Fields B and C
6pm Building 1 (rear) Girls U13 and U15 Field B, Boys U13B* and C Field C

6pm Building 2 (front) Boys Rec. and U11
7pm Building 2 (front) Boys U15 and BU13A Red and BU13A Black

Pre-season Skills Sessions begin Tuesday, January 3rd at NH Sportsplex

Our pre-season Skills Sessions begin Tuesday, January 3rd at NH Sportsplex.

Sessions will be held as follows:

  • Boys Rec. and U11 players 5-6pm in Building 2 *
  • Boys U13 and U15 players 6-7pm in Building 2
  • Girls Rec. and U11 players 5-6pm in Building 1**
  • Girls U13 and U15 players 6-7pm in Building 1

*The bigger, newer building to the front as you enter the complex driveway.
** The smaller, older building to the rear of the complex as you enter the driveway.

Sessions will be available to players that are currently registered and have paid for the 2012 season. If BYLA does not have a completed registration your son or daughter will not be allowed to enter the field. A registration with a signed waiver must be in place for insurnace purposes.

Please arrive at least 15 minutes prior to your session to be checked in. Boys will be given a check-in sticker and their names taped onto their helmet for identification purposes. Girls will have a check-in sticker placed on the upper shaft of their stick.

Please make sure you have all of the proper equipment to participate. Boys must have helmet, arm pads/guards, shoulder pads, gloves, athletic supporter with a cup (no exceptions) and a mouthpiece.

Girls must have eye protection and a mouthpiece.

If any item is not being worn or used, the player will be asked to sit out the session.

2012 Spring Season Lacrosse “Open House”

The Bedford Youth Lacrosse Association will be hosting an “Open House Registration” for the 2012 season, Wednesday, November 16th, 6:00 – 8:00 at Memorial School. Any boy or girl age 7 to 14, interested in playing outdoor, Spring Lacrosse is encouraged to attend. Players can also register by going to the BYLA website.

All players interested in the travel lacrosse teams (levels U-11, U-13 and U-15) are highly encouraged to register now. Due to increased membership the 2012 roster positions will be limited. Returning players will be placed on a first come basis.

The 2012 outdoor lacrosse season runs from the middle of March to the middle of June. No experience is necessary to sign up. BYLA offers a recreation lacrosse program to boys and girls under the age of 11 and travel teams U11, U13 and U15. Representatives from the Bedford Youth Lacrosse Association will be present to provide information about this fast-paced and exciting game and to answer any questions children or parents may have about the sport. Adults who are interested in helping as volunteers (coaches, sponsors, team parents, etc.) may also attend.

A weekly indoor session will be held each Tuesday at NH Sportsplex starting in early January and will run until the end of March. These skill-based sessions are offered at no extra charge to the player and will help all players in all age groups and genders to learn and prepare for the coming outdoor season. Players are encouraged to attend but they are not mandatory.

2012 REGISTRATION IS NOW OPEN!

 

Registration for the 2012 season is now open. Any boy or girl age 7* to 14**, interested in playing outdoor, spring lacrosse is encouraged to register as soon as possible. Due to increased membership the roster sizes in all age groups will be limited. Returning players will be placed on a first come basis.

Registration fee for the nearly 6 month season is $175.00 per player with a maximum family charge of $350.00.

Players can be registered by going to the Bedford Youth Lacrosse Association website at http://register.bedfordcannons.org

 Please make sure you do the following:

  • Complete the registration form and follow the instructions carefully.

    • If you are paying via PayPal simply submit your registration and the Club will receive your form online and your payment will be processed automatically through the PayPal system.
    • If you are choosing to pay via check, you must print out your registration and mail it with your registration fee to the address on the form.

PLEASE TAKE NOTE FOR THOSE THAT CHOOSE THE PAY-BY-CHECK OPTION

If you complete your registration online and do not send in your payment to our PO Box, your son/daughter

WILL NOT be counted toward a roster and may risk being put on a wait list.

** can be no older than 14 by August 31, 2011. If player turns 15 after September 1, 2011, he/she is eligible to play unless they are in the 9th grade and attending high school.

Bedford High School Shooting Clinic Saturday, 5/21!!

Bedford High School Head Coach Matt Guerard and players from the Varsity Boy’s Lacrosse team will be at Joppa Hill Field to conduct an hour long Shooting Clinic starting at 11:00 AM. This clinic will concentrate on attack and midfield dodging and shooting skills.

This event is open to all U11 and U15 players. No sign up is necessary.

Start of the 2011 Season

Parents and Players,

We begin the 2011 season this Tuesday with the start of our annual Skills Sessions. These sessions are included in your 2011 Spring fee for Bedford Youth Lacrosse and do not require any action on your part to sign up. By default you are already signed up and simply need to show up and begin your session.

Age group start times:
U11 (this includes travel candidates and Rec.) 5:00-6:00 pm
U13 and U15 6:00-7:00 pm

Boys will report to the new building (the first building you see as you approach Sportsplex) for check in and field assignment .
Girls will report to the older building (the smaller, second building as you enter) for check in and field assignment.

If you have not registered at all or your payment has not been received, you will not be able to take the field.

Please make sure you bring plenty of water.

Boys: Players should be fully equipped (helmet, arm pads/guards, shoulder pads, gloves, stick) and ready to play. Mouth-guards and athletic cups are mandatory. NO PLAYER WILL BE ALLOWED ON THE FIELD UNLESS THE PLAYER IS WEARING THESE TWO ITEMS. Helmets should also be adjusted and fitting properly.

Girls: Players should have mouth-guards and eye protection. NO PLAYER WILL BE ALLOWED ON THE FIELD UNLESS THE PLAYER IS WEARING THESE TWO ITEMS.

2010 Online Registration has closed

Registrations for the 2010 Bedford Youth Lacrosse Association Boy’s travel teams have closed. All rosters are full and we are now on a wait list for our U13 and U15 programs. If you still wish to register and be placed on the list, please contact our Boy’s Coordinator, Mike Desroche at mdesroche@insadjserv.com.

There is still room in our U11/Rec. program and we will continue to take registrations for this age group (10 and under to age 7). If you wish to register for this group, contact Roger Howe at rbh2lax@comcast.net.

There is limited space in our Girl’s U13 and U15 program. However, there is still plenty of room in the U11/Rec. program for girls. If you wish to register for these groups please contact our Girl’s Coordinator TJ Karanasios at tj@sportsandrehab.com.

Please note that registration for the 2011 season will begin in November 2010.
